Vision

The Somali National Network of AIDS Service Organizations (SONNASO) strives for a society in which the whole spectrum of HIV/AIDS danger prevented, reduced to minimum standard and managed properly in Somalia on a multi-dimensional perspective empowering the HIV/AIDS infected people to be active participants in the society thought a shared vision.

Mission

  • To give consideration for feeling to PLWHA and those subjected to HIV/AIDS.
  • To eliminate any form of discrimination and stigma subjected to PLWHA and those who are affected.
  • To Provided care, support and sympathy for PLWHA
  • To reduce the vulnerability of the community to HIV/AIDS.

Objectives

  • To build the capacity of the network members and other practitioners to achieve the desired impact effectively and efficiently.
  • To raise the awareness of the community towards HIV/AIDS and STD through mass media
  • To develop and enhance the skills of health workers, tradition healers and lab technicians to ply helpful role on to HIV/AIDS prevention program.
  • To establish a cooperative relationship with local and international NGOs.
  • Advocating for the critical issues related to HIV/AIDS fighting for all the basic human rights of infected as well as the uncontaminated ones. - Promoting greatly the involvement of the PLWHA to the HIV/AIDS prevention program. -
  • To establish VCT for PLWA and all other community to fight against global diseases (HIV/AIDS,TB and Malaria) Activities
  • Awareness campaign against HIV/AIDS through mass media
  • Awareness raising and prevention programs for HIV/AIDS to universities and high schools.
  • Two seminars for HIV/AIDS. - Workshops
    • AIDS prevention seminars - Commemoration of WAD
    • Capacity building
